Board of Directors
Tyler Hofland
Founder & President
About Tyler
Tyler Hofland is a husband, father, entrepreneur, and respected energy-industry leader with deep expertise in capital strategy and modern asset management practices. For nearly two decades, he has helped natural gas utilities improve long-term investment decisions, strengthen system performance, and adopt cutting-edge, data-driven planning frameworks. Tyler also holds an MBA in Energy Management.
In addition to his utility career, Tyler has launched and led several successful ventures, giving him firsthand experience in building organizations, managing teams, and creating value from the ground up. His mix of industry leadership and entrepreneurial drive shapes the practical, action-oriented way he approaches both business and mission work.
Earlier in his life, Tyler faced serious personal and professional setbacks that forced him to confront the consequences of his decisions and rebuild his life with honesty and accountability. That process ultimately led him to create The Middle Cross Mission — an organization built to support people who are working to start over after hard chapters of their own.
Today, Tyler continues his full-time work in the energy sector while leading the mission. He speaks openly about rebuilding, resilience, and what real change requires — not as theory, but as someone who has lived it. His leadership is steady, direct, and grounded in the belief that people are not defined by their lowest moment, but by what they choose to do next.

Matt Marchand

About Matt
Matt Marchand currently works for Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City as the Director of Youth Evangelization. He has Master of Divinity from Boston College with undergraduate degrees in Management Information Systems and Philosophy. Two major passions have persisted throughout his life. The lesser is for the martial arts and the greater is for his faith. These two passions share so many common goals but chief among them is to help others mature into the full capacity of their nature. He began teaching martial arts and Sunday school classes as a teenager and never looked back. In joining The Middle Cross Mission, Matt aspires to bring a spirit of mentorship, accompaniment, and the positive hope found in Jesus Christ to those who are seeking stability in chaos. His hope is that The Middle Cross Mission will encounter all, wherever they are, with reason, religion, and loving kindness.
